Quick help for a future Quant

November 11th, 2017, 5:06 pm

Hello, I am a passionate of Math and Finance, currently in a French University I’m looking for becoming a Quantitative Analyst. The intellectual stimulation, the mathematical problems and working on projects attract me a lot.
Therefore, I created a quick and easy Questionnaire to help me complete the information that I already collected.

If you could help me on this point, I'd be very grateful!

A good way to get more response is to offer a prize for entry #100, for example Nominal amount,

Do I need to begin my questionnaire with "The third question will blow your mind" or "I offer 10 Iphone X for the 100th entry" ?
Seriously, what is wrong with my questionnaire ?

some of the questions are, "What is the name of the company you are working for?" and "In which department do you work?" followed by "What is your educational path after high school? (Name of the University, MSc etc)."
It looks like something a headhunter would put out to phish for information on both you and your employer. Would it be easier if we all sent you our resumes so you can complete the form yourself?

And why post on OT???
There is a Careers forum.

How long was your biggest project?

What are the units of 'long'?

When I looked at the Careers forum, it was full of precise question and my questionnaire is about "basic" stuff.
The units of "long" could be Days, Months, Years, just units of time.

I forgot to ask what the definition of a project was.
According to what I understand about the job of a Quant, it seems like you "create and code a mathematical model to answer a financial question", this question could lead to optimize/create financial products. Moreover, I read that you don't work all the time on the same product, so what I mean by "project" is this period of time where you work on a specific issue.
However I'm here to learn so I may be wrong.
