Quantitative Trading

I'm very interesting in Quantitative trading because I don't just want to price finanicial instruments, I predominantly want to make money. I've been looking around and it seems that all Quant trading falls under the high frequency trading umbrella, are there any other areas of quant trading?

It is much easier to screw the customers/management using obscure products, Ivy league resume and good sell speech. Inefficiencies are small and you will have to spend years digging into the data to create working robot . The job is not prestigious and not well compensated.QuoteIs algo trading the same as quantitative trading? If so, is algo trading not well compensated either? I would appreciate if you can give a range of algo traders' salary (both experienced and non-experienced)thanks a lot

tu160, wouldn't you argue compensation is largely a function of how successful your techniques are, and hence prestige a function of the size of your compensation?

There are other types of quant trading. Volatility arbitrage, for example. And within vol arb there are: relative vol (IV skew...), absolute vol (IV/HV) types of arb.Good luck
