what I'm getting out of this thread is the following:1) Work on your own stuff and track down managers and show them your work, maybe take them to lunch sometime. This is the best way to get a very good position doing something you love.2) Going through HR is simply a waste of time. Their job is to generally say no unless management has the need for some low level grunt work. If you going through HR you might as well look elsewhere, even if you get the job, you probably won't like the work very much.3) Most Head Hunters are waste of time. They are just in it for quick buck and will spam you with nonsense positions. If you work with a headhunter make sure they really take the time to understand who you are and what you want to do, otherwise simply hang up the phone!A big thanks to everyone who replied.
