I just think these normative discussions of geniuses lack zest and imagination. It is much more interesting to think about how to build a great company with a group of outliers who possess exceptional skills in pattern recognition and abstraction. Naturally, such people are also endowed with "difficult" personalities in some cases. You may add a few empaths, as they bring humor, "happiness," and an appreciation for eccentric collegiality to the mix.

Its a shame.absolutely. writing grammatically correct language is a prerequisite to being a genius. overlooking what scientists' and researchers' scraps look like. indeed a comma with a kay is what you expect but not from a quant practitioner.

What about hiring acquired super savants? supposedly only 32 "registered" acquired in the world (and one unregistered)... "when acquired, abilities appear to spring forth suddenly following stroke, brain injury, or dementia. Many savants are creative, in additions to being highly skilled."another interesting story here: How a Brain Injury Made Me a Mathematical Marvel by Jason Padgett: review "So far his genius hasn't got him much more than a couple of art prizes and an inquiry from a Toronto financial firm interested in applying his fractal geometry to the stock market."
