I doubt having some edit to the OP flow through to other follow-up posts is practical. The quotes are just text in the follow-up post that might have then been edited, paraphrased, responded to within the quote, etc.Maybe the issue could be addressed with a toggle option to "allow/not allow auto quotes for this post" that can be selected in the original post at any time. Once 'not allow' is selected, the Quote option disappears from the menu bar in the lower right. Once you have done all youredits, toggle it back on if you want to then allow your post to be auto quoted. The default behavior could be a user profile item. Personally, I would choose 'not quote' to be thedefault because I make a lot of edits within an initial period to a technical post. Then, after I was doneeditting, I would turn the quote option back on. For example, I wouldn't have allowed this postto be quoted until now: 6:50Maybe that's not practical either, but it seems easier on the face of it, and addresses a few issues.
