Nice new forum look

July 11th, 2016, 3:26 am

A couple suggestions:
-Add some color to alternating panels in main view, just like alternating color in rows of a table makes it easier to view.
-'Principal Discussion Forums' (as in 'principal topics')

Emoticons are back! :D

New Website. I was like WTF??!!!???

Next I will find out the UK will have a female PM and we are out of the EU.

Good work James (if it was you!).

Congrats with going live with the new look!

A cosmetic note: when I post a reply to a thread (just now in the tech forum), the site says I posted it 2 hours ago. Could be related to time zones.

Maybe something is wrong with me today, but I can't figure out how to go to the next page (or maybe it's my browser - chrome).

Some more suggestions:

-upon forum logout, return to the main forum view, rather than the site home page.
That's the way the old forum worked and is almost always where you want to get to.

-agree with EBal's confusion. Some simple single page forward/back navigation would be helpful.

Very Nice, but I am not sure the forum has got green light yet. Need buttons to move from page to page?

Nice LaTeX works well also (not the cod box, just directly): testing: \(e^{i\pi}\)  Larger:  \(e^{i\pi}\)

 \[G=\frac{l_p^2c^3}{\hbar}\]

More testing :  \(\frac{G}{c^4}=\frac{1}{G\frac{m_pm_p}{l_p^2}}\) where \(m_p\) is the Planck mass.

\begin{eqnarray}
R_{\mu v}-\frac{1}{2} g_{\mu v} R &=& \frac{8\pi G}{c^4}T_{\mu v}  \\
R_{\mu v}-\frac{1}{2} g_{\mu v} R &= &\frac{8\pi}{G\frac{m_pm_p}{l_p^2}}T_{\mu v} \\
\end{eqnarray}

Test  8-):geek::ugeek:

:mrgreen: > :D

Testing the new Emoticons combined with built in LaTeX functions, wow this is much better than expected (Nice programming): (use the code box folks)
Image

We just need a built in true random number generator, so we can run live MC.

curved bracket \(x^2 \)  or USD inside square brackets [$]x^3[$] for inline math

slash + square brackets or double USD for display math, optionally with a LaTeX environment in it

 \[
\begin{align}
x^2 &=1 \\
1 &= x^2
\end{align}

Thanks for all the feedback.
We are working on the navigation, that's a bug that appeared out of nowhere.

Pagination seems to be back now. It will show at both the top- and bottom-right of the thread page when there are more than 10 posts.

More that industrial anti-climb, anti graffiti and very definitely anti#hashtag!

What a shiny new post-EU skin.

I do hope this new version also comes with upgraded performance.

Thanks for all your efforts to improve Wilmott.com!
