### Re: what did the painter do wrong?

this was painted by a quite famous (<< Munch) painter in Norway   in the 1950's, what did he do wrong? (parts of the walls of the cafe of the physics institute university of oslo)

It is possible to show that the alternating series for log (2) converges by testing against Cauchy criterion.
In the painting, a continued fraction expansion for log (2) would have been more aesthetically pleasing.

or a math-smart painter putting in math errors on purpose? wanting people to think...?

James Joyce deliburately inserted typos into his works in order to help PhD students (and their supervisors) find suitable research topics.

5. Find the last digit of pi
If you compute the volume of Torricell's trumpet you get
$\sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty 1/n^2 = \pi^2/6$

It's a start. But not for fixed-price projects.

How about making rotini's trumpet on x = 1 to 0 with central axis of something like y = sin(1/x), z = cos(1/x), and r = x/2?

I prefer Fussilli to Rotini. I don't like abstract expressionism.
