EESA 2008 aka Bailout Bill - Will it win or lose?

October 3rd, 2008, 11:29 am

So there has been no shortage of opinions here and the Bailout Bill has gone from a 3 page out line to a 44 page Act to a 110 page Act to a whopping 451 page Act.It passed in the Senate by a margin of 74-25 on Wednesday - will it pass in the House of Representatives? Here are some details on the naysayers from the original vote on EESA 2008.A Curious Coalition - NYT Oct 2But its a messier bill now too - ever-outspoken (and not a Gray Lady) - the New York Daily News assesses the "Pork":Bailout Dish - NYDN Oct 3 Rest assured, if you thought it was imperfect before, it's fully dysfunctional now.

I say pass: they only need to twist a dozen or so arms, the bill's been loaded up with what $100bn of pork, and the rebel dems know that mccain is screwed if this passes (the conservative base will stay home)
