I am not a betting man, but I will bet that my worthy competitor has a server in a hurricain. Isabell has distracted us.I was long CAT bonds, 'cause I knew this storm would peter out. Gotta go short 'em now. - j

Why short? CAT bonds have never paid anything less than full principle, right? Or at least thats what ive been told...seems like (though i have no way of checking and could be very wrong) someone could have bought them recently if they traded down as Isabel was a catergory 5, and hold for a nice return

Don't know anything about the guys who are taking over. Could this be the reason for the disappearence of rentec.com?

That site never got updated too often. Hell, they had the same prog position posted for the past 2 years and, as far as I can tell, none of the pages had been updated since 2000.

Was surprised Jim Simon ever had a site....Probably the most secrecy obsessed hedge fund out there. Why would they want to post anything on the internet ? Ever notice how few hedge funds have URL's

Nice sunglasses Newton. Do you have a life? Not since I started working on pricing dynamics. It's one thing having the exact equations; it's a much much bigger problemsync'n em up to the market with a filter.I wonder if Renaissance can only predict expected volatility (like some of us) or can they also predict the exact magnitude and price direction usinga PLL ( phase lock loop) like Sornette uses in his predictions.

they do hf, it has to be something related to "tic" data in a db. ALthough it would suck if you just kept the fridge stocked and you didn't get to eat anything that you killed.
