Trading - lowest commission

January 4th, 2019, 10:07 pm

Hi Guys

I would like to trade stocks on different kinds of markets i.e. US, UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and perhaps even the Asian market. I have the following criteria:

1) I wish to be able to take long and short positions
2) Most importantly, trade with lowest transaction costs possible
3) It must be real-time (a small delay of 5-15 min may be allowed but the execution must be real-time)

I live in Europe and currently the lowest fees are something like 0,05% per trade which quickly adds up. Moreover, a 0,05% doesn't give you the opportunity to trade with "small" amounts and try out different trading strategies.

Do you know any brokerage firms which fulfil the criteria above?

Thank you!

The only broker who trade worldwide markets, with desktop application running on Linux, OSX and windows, low cost, multi-currency accounts and giving access to the API is Interactive Brokers.

1) You should open a "margin account" to trade short positions.
2) check on their web site.
3) Don't even think trading without realtime data.

The more capital you have, the more lower fees you get.

PS: I have an account with IB for the last 6 years and I am not affiliated with them. I trade exclusively on my Linux box.
