The Trump regime managed Afghanistan and Covid about equally badly. The current administration has made serious strides on Covid, despite the efforts of bleeding head Republican governors in disaster areas like Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and other armpits of the US, but has not improved on the stupid Afghani war. As far as The Who goes, Won’t Get Fooled Again was not prophetic.

The good news is that a lot of republicans are dying of Covid in Florida, Texas and such places. The bad news? Not enough to make a real difference, and they do of course take real people with them, not the least school kids. DeSantis and Abbott are vigorously decrying any idea that laws and courts can limit their ability to rule by decree and restrict local authorities from carrying out their sworn duties. Totally Trumpian.

Op-Ed: As a doctor in a COVID unit, I’m running out of compassion for the unvaccinated. Get the shot

If you believe the pandemic is almost over and I can ride it out, without getting vaccinated, you could not be more wrong. This virus will find you.

Actually, I'm starting to believe that the virus will find everybody, eventually, vaccinated or not. Of course, when it does find you, best to be vaccinated first.

Can't do an edit, so will add to my previous post:
What's stronger than natural immunity or vaccine-based immunity?  hybrid immunity
Herd immunity is so 2020 -- this is the new end game.  :D

All right - counting on this! The stupid virus almost killed me in the first wave, and I’m fully vaccinated. Also probably in a good position for the booster. I may or may not feel guilty about accepting that…

Has Macron been suspended from Twitter and Facebook for spreading misinformation about AstraZenica?

"This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity"

"SARS-CoV-2-naive vaccinees were also at a greater risk for COVID-19-related-hospitalizations compared to those that were previously infected. "

We've only had one complaint about me saying "And get vaccinated" in today's mailshot. Disappointing.

"The report shows that 489 of 742 people (65.9%) who died of the delta variant within 28 days of a positive covid test between 1 February 2021 and 2 August 2021, had received at least one dose of the vaccine. 54.1% (402 of 742) had received both doses."

"Vaccinate your workers!" Biden, similar to a farmer I know said to his neighbor farmer "Vaccinate your cattle".

Some positive moves by Biden (and others, including the LA Unified school district) today to require vaccination. But, at some point, the lack of a proper federal proof of vaccine is going to be a problem.
