Kaufman's  "Elvis impersonation" was one of the greatest short acts. Jim Carrey was excellent and credible, but you can also find the original Elvis schtick on youtube -- definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
I've just spent a very happy hour watching Andy Kaufman on youtube!

From RTÉ Radio 1's News At One, RTÉ Washington Correspondent Brian O'Donovan on the New York Times' invesigation into US president Donald Trump's tax bill
Bought in 2014, Doonbeg posted an operating loss of over €330,000 in 2017. Around 300 staff are employed at the hotel at peak times, including bartenders and cleaning staff. In April 2020, like many Irish businesses, the hotel sought financial assistance from the Irish government to help pay furloughed workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. This scheme provided 70% of worker's salaries to a maximum of €410 per week, so long as they are kept on the payroll.
While Trump declared that he would restrict himself from pursuing any foreign deals during his time as president, his revenue from abroad was around $73 million during his first two years in the White House. Most of this revenue came from his golf properties in Scotland and Ireland.

zooh..

I've heard from a reliable source - QAnon - that the Simulation will be Rebooted if Trump loses.

Hehe -- you and Scott Adams were thinking alike today.

OK, on the gender gap, pollsters have drilled down and found that most of the "Men for Biden" are college-age males afraid that if they don't vote for him, they'll never get laid again.

Finally saw Borat 2. Very lame. $80 million?! No really compromising footage. We don’t know how much was staged. Past its sell-by date.

Scott Atlas, Trump’s hand picked leader of the US Covid response who knows nothing about the topic, can’t get much airtime in the US beyond Fox News and AON. So he went on a long rampage on Putin’s propaganda network RT, where he expanded on his views on how masks and lockdowns kill people. Because, you know, who’s there to stop him? And don’t mention models to him, because they are obviously useless. Unless you can find one that shows Trump to have done something (anything?) right. But that seems like unlikely.

Greatly enjoying my vacation, but a little red-white-and-blue salute to you, with 2.5 days to go!

Will you have a big party on Tuesday night while watching the numbers roll in? : )

I also have an on-topic short story for you...after I make a pot of tea....

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

So, I have been taking some road trips and recently went very far north, almost to the Canadian border.

It's beautiful up there, with mountains, rivers, and a strange mix of significant wealth and rural poverty up around ski country and beyond.

Looking at the politics, it's typically been a right leaning/libertarian kind of state - "Don't Tread on Me" "Live Free or Die" - but looking at the political slant of the lawn signs, it's about 50/50, even there. Of course the Trump/Pence signs were very large, and MAGA was visible too.

But here is a local nuance - maybe also good for Gallow's Humor.

I went to a Market Basket (big grocery chain here) and *many* people had guns, visibly in holsters on their belts.  In that state, if you have a license, you can do that.

But still, open carry in Market Basket? It's like Waitrose

So, had to keep my eyes open, while choosing a few tomatoes and lining up in an orderly row 6 ft- 6ft-6 ft....at the checkout.

Anyway, they are definitely packin' heat up there, left, right, and center. Hope their safetys are on.

I have my great-grandfather's 12-gauge, but I'm not planning to bring it to Whole Foods any time soon.

For those who are offended by gun humor sorry, but it's truly local color and I did laugh - and then I got the heck out of Dodge. : )
