More treason on tap, as Trump relies almost entirely on Russia for background information and advice on how to negotiate with North Korea. Fuck US intelligence agencies, because they know nothing...

I used to like the odd cigar but haven't smoked a single one by the fireside (gas or log) for at last 5 years.
My fear is that they will ban log fires here.

In California, they are more likely to ban the cigar. Here's an amusing rant from Adam Carolla, a local comedian, directed at his young hires it seems -- the cigar comes at the end (5 mins):

California sounds quite benign compared to (central) Europe.

It all went wrong for me around 2007 in Vienna; I was at an open-air concert (by Haydn, or maybe Mozart), sitting far away in a corner of the yuge park having a quiet smoke of a Romeo e Julia cigar and  when a crowd pounced on me when I done nothing but have good thoughts. I was cured.

Rocket Fuel #2

3 oz. Sloe Gin
2 oz. Southern Comfort
2 oz. Amaretto
2 oz. Gin
2 oz. Vodka (from your 90,000-bottle stash...)
3 oz. Grenadine
9 oz. Orange Juice
9 oz. Cranberry Juice

Combine in a 32 oz. pitcher. Scale up as needed.

Safety Advisory:

Do not operate nuclear missile silos while under the influence.

Opening and closing the silo doors is not a drinking game.

Neither is ICBM roulette.

That impounding by our intrepid Dutch customs is just a warm-up for BEXIT.

Indeed! But if you think it through, BREXIT in any form - deal or no deal - is tame compared to NKEXIT.

Then it might be time to find another planet... hehe

Haven't seen this in many years - good satire.

It's even worse; after 90K bottles of vodka they won't know if they are coming or going.

Forget the kabuki in Hanoi. Irrelevant. More interesting was Michael Cohen's closing statement today, where he suggested that Trump would not go peacefully if he were to lose the 2020 election. Which I have stated for a couple of years, but (unlike me) he actually knows Trump about as intimately as you can without having experienced the mushroom up close and personal.

Trump is showing his Midas touch (everything he touches turns to a muffler!) on trade and international relations. Having grown the trade deficit by 25% or so in a couple of years is pretty impressive. After his make-out session with Chairman Kim was cut short, North Korea has been documented rapidly rebuilding their missile testing facility, which is what any reasonable person would have expected them to do. But Trump is "very disappointed". Hopefully, we will survive the extended amateur hour, and he will live to face the penalty for treason (after dealing with the minor issues of corruption, emoluments, collusion, obstruction of justice, bank fraud, insurance fraud, etc.).

Well, we just have to see what happens next.

I thought of you and this thread today though.

On a lighter note:

Tim Apple... ?

I am going to write to Saturday Night Live with a skit proposal (the cold open actually).

We zoom in on big modern conference room where the heads of major tech and financial companies are meeting:

Tim Apple
Bill Microsoft
Sergiy Google
Elon Tesla...

and the CEOS (past and present) keep walking in, with their new name tags and are being greeted heartily by their peers...

"Wow, Larry Oracle, so good to see you." "Warren Berkshire-Hathaway, it's been ages, old boy..."

Finally, someone comes in who is not familiar to them - he is stocky and mysterious, black sunglass and a low set fedora, kind of Japanese Gangsta look, with a big gold chain. Odd Job from Goldfinger?

and then they realize...

It is Satoshi Bitcoin!

Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!
