Some NLP sentiment analysis, a scream

Negativity is their dominant sentiment, with anger and fear as the driving emotions. This was largely directed at China, democrats, foreigners, the lockdown, masks, and the fake news media. They expressed fear towards China, democrats, foreigners, and masks.

Joy and Love are their dominant positive sentiment emotions. They were joyous of a rise in gun sales, some scientific findings, and Trump's handling of covid. They expressed love over the flag, Tea Party, and Trump.
That sounds about right, except I’m a little puzzled by the joy expressed over “some scientific findings.”

Probably referring to the works of the great Bishop Ussher. Either that or the algorithm failed to find a linear separating hyperplane.

“some scientific findings.”
I've got it:  they have 'the best COVID-19 testing system in the world", right?
Step over the gap, not into it. Watch the space between platform and train.

The Racist-in-Chief has been hitting Twitter pretty hard today. Loving the Confederate flag, nooses for Black drivers, and sports team names mocking native Americans. And killing people left and right by gross negligence of the Corona virus. But, that’s just business as usual.

Oh - and as a side benefit of unleashing the Corona virus on the country, Trump’s favorite department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, gets to kick out (or keep out) any foreign student with a visa to study at a university that offers their classes online. Like, say, Harvard. Or Cal State Fullerton. Because they’re losers. And will steal American jobs and rape American men. And maybe women. You never know with them foreigners.

My libertarian streak is not quite as strong as Paul’s, but undoubtedly stronger than he would give me credit for. So I’m fine with Republicans killing themselves and each other by the tens of thousands by ignoring behavioral guidelines informed by science they neither understand nor accept. The problem is that every now and then they are allowed into polite company, and do not leave their virus at the door. At this point, it looks like Trump is trying to drive the country into such a covid disaster that he can (almost) legitimately cancel November elections.

So the Criminal-in-Chief received protection from the Supreme Court today, guaranteeing that voters will get exactly zero information about his finances before the election. Sad, but not terribly surprising.

An interesting change to US tax law was proposed today on Twitter (the source of such things). In a first step to establishing his Berufsbeamtengesetz, he proposed to withdraw tax exempt status and federal funding from any university that doesn’t support him politically. Officials who, on account of their past political activities cannot guarantee that they have always acted wholeheartedly for the national state, must be terminated.

Trump has a weird goal with DACA. Apparently he wants to overturn it to turn it into a bargaining chip. Not a good strategy at this point -- if ever.
A little vague, but better

It’s going to be the biggest immigration bill ever! At least seven foot tall! Oh, and it won’t actually be a bill, but an executive order. Who needs congress!

So, the Loser-in-Chief, being told that he was about to lose another lawsuit, folded on his idiotic ban of foreign students. To try to balance things out he has ordered US hospitals to no longer send covid statistics to the CDC, who don’t love him, but to some republican controlled PO Box in DC where the data can be “processed” before being released to the public.

So the Trump-licking governor of the state of Georgia (not the nice country by the same name) just sued the mayor of Atlanta for imposing a mandatory mask ordinance. Apparently, he fears that he won’t meet his killing quota if his biggest city works against him. Undoubtedly, he will win.

In case anybody wonders how the US is doing (aside from a presidentially supported pandemic), Trump has deployed masked, unidentified and heavily armed federal troops to the relatively liberal city of Portland, OR, to “arrest” protesters and take them away in unmarked vans. Rented from Enterprise. It would not at all surprise me if they are followed by swarming autonomous killer drones.

At least it's fun. Here our govs decided that it's the best moment and occasion to sever the economic relationship with China. The post-epidemic zombie economy creeping out of the EU and now out of China... Reminds me the past Poland, whose government carelessly bent Russian ears, and in response the borders closed for tracks full of our apples. At least the drivers had something to eat. On second thoughts, do Chinese take bribes?

Do Chinese take bribes? See Moutai, at least until yesterday the worlds highest valued liquor company. Because it makes for a great bribe! But, speaking as somebody who spent a month or so on oxygen to try and survive Covid, it’s not actually that much fun. If he would just go die in a hole we would all be much better off.

I'm sorry, on closer look it's indeed not even tragicomedic.
