I was just in Dublin yesterday and naturally discussed Brexit with a taxi driver. He was very smart but he had fallen for all the fake news, hook, line and sinker. He seemed to think that unemployment in the UK was rising, wages falling, etc. etc. Even the Guardian grudgingly admits the opposite (Despite Brexit)...https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... y-earnings
. It was a bit sad. NB I have deliberately given a link to an anti-Brexit news source!
On the other hand, according to some EU body (see Cuch's link) 99.7% of people in Ireland simply adore the EU. A similar fraction as people in North Korea who love Kim Jong-un. Makes one wonder...I'm inclined to think a) rigged, b) p hacking, c) clever poll wording or d) and this is my personal favourite, 90% of people in Ireland are from Eastern Europe. I think I met just two Irish people during my stay.
