So, in short, rather than trying to negotiate a trade agreement the UK is trying to renegotiate the Brexit agreement.

They have forgotten what the original deal was (they have an unwritten constitution, so play by ear..). It's not funny.

No, I think it was simply a case of pretending to agree to something they knew they would never actually live up to.

L'Angleterre, ah, la perfide Angleterre,
que le rempart de ses mers rendoit inaccessible aux Romains,
la foi du Sauveur y est abordée.

I guess it’s OK. It’s not like BJ needs to make any other international agreements .

The attitude among remaining government lawyers really does seem to be that it’s OK to break the law in limited and specific ways. Since that is not how the rest of the world feels, England is really going to struggle to make any other international agreements for a while. Certainly under the current cast of clowns.

"Dominic Raab hasn’t even read the Good Friday Agreement. His excuse? ‘It’s not a novel’. No. It’s not even a novella. It’s 35 pages. More of a short story, really. Except it’s not a story - it’s real, with real world consequences that affect lives. Oh, and it’s HIS JOB."
