True. People always praise German bureaucracy, I don't know why, British beaurocracy is much more efficient, friendly and probably cheaper. The only good think about German beaurocracy is it works - unlike French and Italian.

Once all the paperwork is done, ist alles klar and you can take a short vacation. Absprache ist absprache.

There're no Absprachen in Germany. You molest your officer until he says "ja."

Seems that 0.27% of the UK will vote to elect a new prime minister.

Having spent some time in Germany and the Netherlands last week, there may not have been Absprachen but there sure was Spargel. Not to mention Grie Soß und Ebblewei.

In the EU no member of the public gets to vote for your Presidents.

AFAIK that 0.27% are party members, so there's no difference, really. And what about your Lords.

The Lords used to be fantastic. No one chose them. Then Blair killed them off replacing them with his cronies.

I’ve said this before, every time my college call me begging for money I tell them I’m not giving them a penny until they take away Peter “Lord Oil of Olay” Mandelson’s honorary fellowship. They don’t care.

The Tories can finally cut each other's throats openly. Who's going to win the leadership race?
Actually, we could start a new conservative party. It's a good moment and we've got everything that's needed: a bunch of greedy old men and a young woman with daddy issues.
