Jo Cox = Boris Johnson
Is that a bad analogy? Ditch?

Best not to go there.

It's a funny old world. The left screams and shouts, calls for people to be lynched, beheaded, etc. And then Boris says "Humbug" and they are outraged. I'm still struggling to understand how the left copes with their obvious, at least to me, hypocrisy. It's no different with education though. Extreme left says "Ban all private schools and redistribute their assets." Moderate left says, "Ban all private schools and redistribute their assets. But not until my children have finished."

"Humbug" sounds so 19th century, Toff debating society mumbo-jumbo.

people to be lynched, beheaded, etc.
I'm more worried about the 'etc' part .. fear of the unknown.

// More accurately --. "Bah! Humbug"

It reminded me of another "H" word they wanted to ban - Holocaust.

I have come to the only logical, internally consistent, conclusion that the left and remainers don’t understand the concept of metaphor. In which case when they suggest beheading someone...

Turrón beats them all. The soft version, which Arabs brought to Iberia. Ten different stories about the origin of the recipe and the name, but I was told it came from the Arabic name of Tamarisk (the candy was originally produced from its sop). It was a sweet treat with medicinal properties. Now they make from egg whites and sugar. Same as with marshmallows - once tasty candies made of starchy malva roots or stems with various positive medicinal effects, and today they make them of gelatine and other filth.

It's sad; I suspect that Left doesn't do metaphor.

In the UK politics, you're a non-entity if you cannot boast of having received death threats.

“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.”

Clever.
It's like a bet each way.

It was supposed to be a full meal. When Arab traders travelled across Asia to sell spices, cloths or black slaves they took the nougat with them for a nutritious treat which doesn't go bad. Good old times!
I made the inferior egg-white version once (for my ex) - 4 hours of mixing whites over the steam, but the happy stuffed face was worth it!
