I'm thinking of trying Le Bouquet Garni next week. From Tripadvisor it's not too expensive, but the waiters are somewhat stilted.

I only know one family who live in Luxembourg. They say it is soulless. And they are German.

It's what you make of it yourself. First world problem. Feels like 'amuse me jester' like guests at a Dutch birthday party waiting for something to happen. We moved to the countryside when Junior was 6. He loves it because he also made his own projects from anything and everything. Not a spoiled brat.
They obviously haven't discovered the underground heavy metal scene.

If there's an underground heavy metal scene this family would have found it! (Musically the whole of the EU is still in the mid seventies. Can't wait until they they discover New Romantic.)

Is Luxembourg really the most corrupt country in the EU? Or maybe they just have different standards. I.e. none.

This is the most anyone has talked about Luxembourg since, I don't know, probably forever! Now about those tax dodgers...

If they don't like it, then move and stop whingin'

Paul, metal has moved on since Iron Maiden. And the last hope was Marc Bolan.
You are obsessed with the EU.. Where did it all go wrong for you?

Maybe Boris (Hulk or Invisible Man?) can tell us how he got on today?

This is great fun, like Basil Fawlty goes to Monte Carlo. At some stage things get back to normal. These are moments to treasure.

This is the most anyone has talked about Luxembourg
Why thank you.

I lose interest after about 48 hours. That goes for my interest in anything, except food. But EU things keep happening within that 48 hours, so that my interest is re-awakened! Timescales are very important in mathematical modelling. We have a situation with the internet, twitter, TV news channels, that we are probably all resonating, like the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Like an ODE with different time scales, except the transientw pop up in the morning, then die off at lunch-time, only be replaced by tea-time transients.

Different humans probably have different timescales for different things. If the news cycle has a period that matches one of these then there will be trouble.

We hear about people having knee-jerk reactions to things. I wonder if that is mainly a certain type of person. And whether they have certain political leanings.

This could explain a lot. It could explain everything!

The model will be easy. But where can we get data? Shall we start a thread to model this?!

Different political leanings lead to different things triggering the knee-jerk reaction.

JC Juncker was the son of a steel worker. You would never see one of Arthur Scargill's sons becoming PM, unless of course he went to Eton.

Yes. But is there any relationship between the triggers and the timescale? I mean Category A (whatever that might be) person is triggered by certain things, has a certain threshold and a certain timescale. A Category B person has different triggers etc. and crucially a different timescale. What I’m getting at is that as news speeds up so different types of people get upset and feed back via SM. Some news stories will lead to bubbles, others won’t.

What’s that saying about gossip traveling half way around the planet before truth has got its shoes on.

It interests me but probably no one else!

This doesn’t answer that question, but as an amusing aside...

Last night I dreamed I was riding in a limousine with Angela Merkel.

We were talking in German and she was adamant that we needed to do something absolutely “ungewöhnlich” in Brexit negotiations.

It means unusual or unique.

So we were starting to brainstorm about what that might be.

Then I woke up. : D

You’re not alone. But I don’t think we’re going to wake up.
