Ah - well there was a point to the impeachment, which was that if found guilty, he could (and definitely would) have been banned from ever holding a federal office again. Now we’re back in your trump2024.monster scenario.

I’d chalk that up to his Eton and Oxford roots. And a deep desire not to actually say anything, because saying out loud what he believes would undermine any ideas he may have to nurture “the special relationship” during the next four years.

I think the modern expression is something like "That if is doing a lot of heavy lifting"!

I'm going out on a limb here, but being on death row for treason would probably have the same effect, and then some.

I think I’ve been consistently in favor as far as Trump is concerned. As far as the concept goes in general, my objections are more pragmatic than philosophical.

I’m afraid Xi can afford to lose a hundred million people, whereas Boris can’t. And if he thinks the EU has been a bit standoffish with him lately, that’s nothing compared to how they will treat him after starting a thermonuclear war in the neighborhood. Wait, the war is only going to be in China? Oh, never mind then. Carry on!

People who attended the 2019 Pendulum Summit in the Convention Centre Dublin will be familiar with Boris Johnson's yarn about the movie "Jaws".

At the motivational speakers event, the future prime minister asked the audience: "Who was the real hero of Jaws?".

After fielding several mock answers, Mr Johnson unveiled the correct answer - not the Sheriff, not the shark - but the Mayor. Why? Because he kept the beaches open, and kept businesses in business.
