Tory MP wants every home in Britain to have a portrait of the Queen

https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/24/tory-mp- ... -14823652/

Not the same as on the cover of the Rolling Stone..

When asked if Boris Johnson had a portrait of the Queen in his lavishly decorated Downing Street flat, his spokesman wouldn’t answer.
And most Labour MPs want a triptych of Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot.

Personally I’d insist on a portrait of Audrey Hepburn.

Adolf H. did not have a salary. But he got royalties on his book (each household), photos, merchandise etc. At one stage his assets stopped being taxed. But Goering was the richest.

Most Irish homes had these

I’ve been looking around the household and, not counting family pictures, the closest thing I can find to a portrait is a rather dramatic image of Annie Leibovitz perched on a (hood ornament) gargoyle extending from the Chrysler building.

Politicians north and south condemn Troubles amnesty plan

https://www.itv.com/news/utv/2021-05-06 ... nesty-plan

A spokesman for Mr Coveney said: "The Irish Government discussed with our UK colleagues the commitments of the Stormont House Agreement and strongly advised against any unilateral action on such sensitive issues.

Another broken agreement by BJ et al.

Ah - the holy trinity! Not to be confused with onion, green peppers and celery.

Dawn Butler ejected from Commons for saying Johnson has lied repeatedly

https://amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproj ... repeatedly

However, in a chamber where MPs must refer to each other as the “honourable member”, accusations of dishonesty are forbidden. An official glossary of other unparliamentary language not permitted by Speakers in recent years includes “blackguard”, “coward”, “git”, “guttersnipe”, “hooligan”, “rat” and “stool pigeon”.
I wouldn't call Boris any of these names.
Does not include 'post box'.

Dave Allen had it right.

It feels to me that the BJ doctrine is likely to work out. It will probably take a couple of generations, but by then England should have a sufficient home grown supply of people willing (and able) to do menial work for low wages. Something about leveling…

Going out on a limb here, but I suspect you think this is a bad thing. I can't immediately see this myself.

No, no. I think having England breed their own deltas and epsilons to serve the next generation Johnsons and Rees-Moggs is just wonderful.

Me? How could I know who does that menial work for you cleaning your house or apartment? Filipino, Mexican, Polish, Indian or Pakistani? You tell us.
