Great analogy! the UK WAS unprepared for WW2 due to the drastic cuts in the military budget in the preceding decade. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

1939 - 400 Spitfires
1945 - 20,000 Spitfires
Ergo
2020 - 5k ventilators
2025 = 200,000 ventilators

?

People have been outing themselves as bedwetters for years. Now they are outing themselves as children who need spoon-feeding ! I love social media!

He is unique in  the village. It might be in short supply.
Is Matt a member of Toby's FSU?

Have you heard of one Humpty Dumpty
How he fell with a roll and a rumble
And curled up like Lord Olofa Crumple
By the butt of the Magazine Wall

(CHORUS) Of the Magazine Wall/Hump, helmet and all?

2.  He was one time our King of the Castle
Now he's kicked about like a rotten old parsnip.
And from Green Street he'll be sent by order of His Worship
To the penal jail of Mountjoy

He doesn’t need to be. I can’t imagine him having an opinion that was different to that of the chattering class.

Aka liberal elite. I checked it on Wiki to make sure it was not made up. It's not very complimentary, is it?

The chattering classes is a generally derogatory[1] term, coined by English journalist Auberon Waugh,[2] often used by pundits and political commentators to refer to a politically active, socially concerned and highly educated section of the "metropolitan middle class",[1] especially those with political, media, and academic connections.

Auberon Waugh was the son of Evelyn Waugh. The first school (I later moved because of that) I went to tried to force his dusty books down our throats. I think the school had an agenda.
He hated James Joyce for some reason.

If we can't stamp out literature in the country, we can at least stop its being brought in from outside.

Evelyn Waugh

He almost succeeded in my case.

Are you saying? "let Matt find his own club". So the liberal elite can never be a member of FSU? What about Celtic Neos?
