Frost admitted that campaigners for Vote Leave did not anticipate the impact Brexit would have on relations with the countries Boris Johnson consistently refers to as “our friends and neighbours”.

Is he a bit thick?

People who like to think for themselves possibly struggle with understanding people who like to be told what to think.

Or maybe it’s envy. I keep telling you that the Brits will save you…although it might take a few more years before you realise you need saving. (Denial, anger,…)

My grandmother had a photo of Queen Victoria (along with Gladstone and Robert Burns) in her living room wall. She always said that Eamon De Valera should never have committed UDI.

The DUP (as always) nor the Scots are very happy.

Yes, I do think this comes down to a lack of empathy. Frosty (sorry, I suppose that should read Baron Frost) probably enjoyed very good relations with the euros until the negotiations got tough. Since then, not so much.

I know nothing about this, but it sounds like he put his brief before his chums. Seems like a decent thing to do.

Migrants who want to come to UK ‘may be sent to processing centres in Africa’

https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/28/migrants ... -14836904/

But The Times reported that the UK could share an ‘African hub’ with Denmark, following previous suggestions that Gibraltar, the Isle of Man or other British islands could be used.

FYI Manx is a Crown Dependency??

Belfast court throws out challenge by unionists to NI Protocol

https://www.rte.ie/news/brexit/2021/063 ... xit-court/

In a lengthy judgment, the judge agreed with the applicants' contention that the Brexit Withdrawal Act, in which the protocol is enshrined, conflicted with the 1800 Acts of Union.
But he ruled that both were constitutional legislation and said that the Withdrawal Act, which was expressly agreed by parliament, effectively overrode the provisions of the 200-year old law.

And here we were led to believe that NI was mostly a Catholic/Protestant problem.

There's a Belfast joke;

1st man; I am Jewish,
2nd man; we know that, but are you a Protestant Jew or a Catholic Jew?

FYI there are about 15 flavours of Presbyterianism in NI.

Brexit "They think it's all over, it is now"

do all Brexiteers regress to France in the summer?

On Friday night, Andrew Neil, one of the station’s founders, had also suggested that new developments were close at hand, saying: “Watch this space.” Tweeting about GB News for the first time in nearly a fortnight, he also confirmed the feuding within management: “Start-ups are fraught and fractious. @GBNEWS is no exception. But the news channel is finding its feet and has a great future.”

Neil, a former BBC political presenter and journalist, is not presenting his show on the GB News at the moment, having taken a long break to spend time in his home in the south of France. It is not clear if there are plans for him to return or to broadcast from there, as British quarantine regulations tighten.

There is evidently a simple problem to the post-Brexit NI solution. If you just make Ireland an English colony, then all the benefits of Brexit will flow to them, too, and all will be happy. It’ll even solve that pesky auto VAT problem.

I agree. The main problem is that almost all the Irish have left Ireland, the vast majority to the UK, but some to far-flung places like The Netherlands. All that's left are the six-toed natives and the Eastern Europeans who have flocked in. The natives couldn't put an X in a box if their unsatisfying lives depended upon it, and the Eastern Europeans like the EU freedom of movement so they can steal and rob from 27 countries with no chance of being caught.

We agree again! Let's make this a hat-trick!
