Didn't "the chosen one" himself say that disinfectant injected straight into the arm would kill the virus? How the US managed to elect Trump as a president still surprises me
He may have been good or bad, most probably a bit of each. But don't be surprised. (And don't be like bearish who thinks Trump still is president!)
I'm just waiting for it to say "de facto", however horrifying it may seem, I think Trump might capture a part of the American spirit.

That's a very savvy remark. I suppose you might be right.

The rapid vaccine development and distribution, at least in the US, has been one of the success stories of the pandemic. Now the Biden administration and the WTO is trying hard to wreck things by stealing the associated intellectual property.  I suspect a year from now, we'll see this misguided effort had zero effect on supplies. But it will be remembered by investors when the next promising biotech company wants to raise startup money.

Sounds a bit odd, isn't Pfizer a medical drug producing company? I mean, I could get the government wanting to make sure the supplies go solely to the US, i mean every country for themselves afterall. But why would the government want to take over, it just means the company will be just as much of a sloth as the rest of the government.

Yeah, that would have been the proposal if Bernie Sanders had been elected.
In any event, maybe Angela Merkel can shut down this IP confiscation idea.

Well, it was in their hands for four years. Tens of millions of people still think it’s in their hands, only temporarily mislaid. As it happens, while I can definitely see the other side of the argument, I’m with Merkel on this one. Incentives matter.

Drawing a blank there, but I did play poker with Johnny Velasquez. Twice!

I own 5% of a racehorse. It's not quite as bad as owning a yacht ("tearing up 100-dollar bills in the shower") but it's close!

My prediction on vaccine incentives. In the US, by mid-summer, as the vaccine glut develops and vaccination rates plateau around 70%, the Biden administration will try paying hold-outs to get vaccinated. The first offer will be $100. How high will they go?   :D
Here you go,  $100, as predicted

Gotcha. My great uncle was a stable hand in Newmarket, so be was. He's long gone, so my guess is as good as yours.

quiz; name of horse that won Ascot Gold Cup June 16 1904?

I own 5% of a racehorse.
flat or steeplechase?
Does it mean free champagne and hob-nobbing?
