I was also surprized by this thread, but for a different reason. I expected to find spirited praise for Frederick II of Prussia (a.k.a. Frederick the Great). I recall Antonia Fraser's comment that among all European monarchs from medieval times to the present, he is the only one who would possibly be remembered today had he been born to non-royal circumstances (she did not count Oliver Cromwell as a monarch).

yeah..aaron...me too....i also expected something abouth the king of prussia..i am a big fan actually. anyways.....ended up learning about friedrich hayek...and yes, i did not know about hayek....how many of guys heard about leo kleinrock?...just trying to say that there are ppl with different backgrounds in this forum...so please be a little tolerant of others's ignorance...bickering and smugness kill the fun!QuoteOriginally posted by: AaronI was also surprized by this thread, but for a different reason.
