Universities offering Financial Engineering / Mathematics

May 16th, 2002, 6:55 am

Hi I see that many threads in this forum has to do with universities and what they offer in terms of financial engineering / mathematics. I thought if everyone sends me any info that they know (of universities and their courses on fin eng/maths), I could just put it in an Excel spreadsheet and we could upload it onto a website for people to download. Let me know what you think of this idea. If anyone is interested in such an idea, let me know.Kanshu

kanshu, that seems like a good idea. but i think what people are most interested in - where is best in terms of job prospects, and which uni has the best reputation - might be difficult to incorporate into a spreadsheet. on a related topic, how meaningful are the grades given to UK universities for research and teaching performance? anyone care to comment? and does anyone pay attention to the newspapers' league tables? (straw poll time, again). i am curious about that. i think the FT, times, and guardian all have them now. everyone knows what the best unis are anyway...and who cares about what is #37?

Kanshu, good idea but in reality lot of politics issue. If I tell you the truth of that program (how it sucks), the administrator will have way to find out who I am and will make my life difficult ! Got what I mean ? Unless thing is kept private bu that doesn't mean good.just my 2 cents
