Hey guys, After doing some more homework I am applying to graduate programs. Berkeley (MFE- almost done with my application), Stanford, Rutgers, and Baruch. For admittance in Spring or Fall 2005. (I have the application due dates, program names, etc. written down in my planner. It won't start being a worry until August when I start applying to programs.I have masters degree in physics and spent significant time in research writing code in C/C++/Fortran (Monte Carlo, Finite Difference algorithms). I know some Visual Basic, and I am very good with Excel. So, I need to pay the bills starting in June when I move back to the states and I am waiting for graduate school to come through. I need to sell my skills, and I think the only way I am going to get work is by going to places and meeting people. At this stage in my education, what could I offer to a financial company to get SOME kind of relevant experience. I am obviously not looking for the job pricing credit derivatives, and I am willing to even do data entry just to MEET people.I am just wondering, what a good approach would be to getting an interview and getting some kind of work that would a) help me in grad-school (ideally) b) simply get a foot in the door. I'm sort of running low on ideas here, and I am looking for any useful suggestions. Thanks, alot.
