Quotebut, being an ex-berkeley dude, I can tell you martingale that there are plenty of attractive chinese chicks in engineering, math, and physics. That is probably true, I had the same feeling when I walked on UCLA campus once as well, but maybe I went to wrong school at wrong times

Hence, maybe, just maybe, in another few years the tables will be turned and it will be...Planet of the Chick Quants.....maybe, instead of a bunch of arm-scratching, male propellerheads, there will be a bunch of chicks here on wilmott with names like "Jenny", and "Sprinkle" and "Mary, Queen of Quants".

I think you could be right I think there are more coming through the ranks so to speak and one day they may well take over. but I would like to hear some views of women but your right there really arent any on here so it has proved my point for now...

maybe most women overcome their complex inner nature in another way than by squeezig and dealing with pseudo-hard facts all day long ... quant work can serve as a socially accepted way to escape from emotions. maybe. (i am male, btw)

I have had the pleasure to meet some very smart women quants...one of them heads a quant trading group in a major hedge fund. The reason I believe there [appears to be] are more male quants is (stating the obvious!); finance business is dominated by male species and as a male club, there is a huge barrier to entry for most women.

It is because there is a major bias toward hiring men in most quant groups.

this topic was discussed so many times on wilmott, it's more boring that picking on mikebell. Scoobudoo strikes me as an impostor. I highly doubt he is a recruiter and it seems likely to me that he is a she.

The most attractive women students are biologists. I know. When I was a grad student, we used fight for these classes.
