What did you give to your male non-quant friends lately? Or, what whould you like for your next birthday present? My favorite answer is, of course, "Something small. A yacht, for example."Humor is appreciated (unless it comes from Ham), but I'd like to see some serious replies, too.

A great gift that my friend just got two days ago was courtside seats to the Laker's playoff game. Not to mention he TiVo-ed the entire game to see if he is ever caught on television. Sports game tickets are always good for guys if you know what sports he liked. I once got playoff tickets for a football game and that was pretty kick ass. The only thing you need to worry about is getting two tickets so that he can bring his significant other.

Wasn't that drunk! What benifits are derived from having lived next door to HK guys at university!

How about an 8-ball, a bundle of quality, a loosie full of dust, and widemouth of Steel Re. A great gift that he is guaranteed NOT to remember.

There is Red Letter Days who do stuff like driving a tank, flying a plane, quad biking etc.A while back we hired a stretch limo to pick a guy up from home and take him to work, complete with a bottle of fizz for his birthday.

And you should rather give them $$ or maybe virtual money

QuoteOriginally posted by: outrunTomorrow is a wedding anniversary, any ideas? What was the most appreciated gift you ever gave? A great time ? A little precious object? (I live in a western city, no room for cattle)Would you care to tell how many years? That will help in the creative thinking. (You can PM if you like). In general, I think a box with a number of symbolic carefully wrapped items is very nice. Some on a meta level - warmth (cashmere), brilliance (doesn't have to be gemstones, could be a geode, or a nice industrial metal object), love - (roses are always welcome here! Red (passion) and white (friendship) are nice for this kind of occasion). Then some items of a more personal nature - a photo of both of you, something memorable from a trip together, or where you went on your honeymoon, X years ago.)
