Is there any free Market Data out there?

May 25th, 2002, 10:15 am

Hi All,Firstly I would like to apologize if my question has already been answered on another thread.Where can a poor student gain access to good reliable market data, I realise that free real-time data is probably out of the question, so historical data will do just fine. The kinds of data I am looking for are Convertible bond prices and their terms, Vanilla call and put option prices (both in and out of the money for modelling the vol. term structure), Corporate bond prices (for credit spreads), on-the-run treasuries of differing maturities, off-the-run could do as well (for modelling the yield curve).I know it is a lot to ask, put if someone knows where I may attain prices and data for just one of the above asset-classes, please let me know or point me to the relevant thread.Thanks,Mexx.

Mexx,You can try ask some librarians at your uni. Sometimes, they have a datastream terminal in the library, subscribe the LIFFE data CD, etc. Even if they don't have this, they may know possible ways of getting those data.Good luck!
