My own experience with Imperial dates back a few years so things have probably changed by now. Also, I did pure maths and no finance. What struck me most of all was that the graduate students (that includes MSc students) where almost all foreign. There was a heavy representation from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Nigeria, Germany, the Scandinavian countries etc. but very few natives. We all communicated in a mixture of broken english and algebra ()Anyway, back then housing was a bit of a gamble. As a foreign students you probably decide on a place to stay before you actually see it. I lived in a student hall that was fairly new but expensive (by my standards). Some of my friends stayed in cheaper halls but some of them where real dumps. Toilets overflowing and flooding the hallways, a distinct smell of fungus. That sort of thing. I sincerly hope they have cleaned up those places. There was a society called something like "The Kensington society for friendship with foreign students" or something like that. They organized parties and such for foreign students and aupair girls (!). Very nice. If you are in to practical "risk management" the school parachute club used to organize beginner's courses in skydiving. Regards,Niclas
