Brazil-Turkey II was a fun game. The score should have been 6-2 instead of 1-0. I'm not very knowledgable about these things, but US-Germany also had a lot of attacking, because the US put a lot of players forward. But Brazil-Turkey looked as if each team agreed at the start that two defenders from each side would take no part in the game.

For a favorite team.... I would abandon my illogical (contrary) thoughts and thinking processes for a logical one.So, here is the logic: Argentina last won the world cup in 1986.Before that they won it in 1978Add 1978 and 1986, it equals to 3964.Germany last won in 1990.Before that they won in 1974.Add 1990 and 1974, it equals to 3964.Brazil last won the world cup in 1994.Before that they won it in 1970.Add 1970 and 1994, it equals to 3964. So going by this logic: the winner of the 2002 world cup is the same as the 3964 - 2002 = 1962 world cup. The 1962 world cup was won by BrazilThis is very foolish thought of many football fans, though.

Great, so England are the current holders. I thought it was France. Of course Henry VI would think they were the same.

You guys got it all wrong!Actually, I thought England (or to be more precise - the premier league) has been conquered by Bernard Lamma, Frank Leboeuf, Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Viera, Nicholas Anelka, Thiery Henry, Marcel Dessailly, Fabien Barthez, etc. They are all living and playing in England..Basically, one could think that they are the same!?!? (In matters of football, solely)

I didn't know when the game will start exactly, so I got stuck watching it in the middle of a bunch of mathematicians. Even though they were all supporting Brazil, each time Ronaldo scored, they looked at each other and briefly nodded. The really passionate ones went like "That was good, yes, good.". I should have dashed to one of the local Brazilian bars, but I thought there were no cabs to be found in the streets. This will never happen to me again.

Great, it is time to celebrate the victory! Maybe in the summer (ie. Dec-Jan 03) at one of Rio de Janeiro fabulous bars, first round of drinks will be on me, especially to Pele. Other Wilmott forum members are more than welcome.

Wonderful game.Thank you guys for the support, and David just let me know when/where it will be in Rio . . . Next fall i will be starting my MsC in Fin Math at UofCThanks Reza!Anyway, next show will be in Germany . . . . 2006. See you there Guys!Pele PS. Brazil won the World Cup in 1958 (Sweden), 1962 (Chile), 1970 (Mexico), 1994 (US) and 2002 (Karea/Japan). As you can notice, Brazil is the only team to win the World Cup in every major continent and is the only 5 times champion. (Italy and Germany have 3 each)
