Will PRM provide exemptions to other qualifications like FRM, CQF?

October 20th, 2004, 2:11 pm

Hi, I have sent two e-mail to PRM regarding this question and still did not get an answer. So, does anyone know if you are exempted from any of the FRM, CQF exams if you are a PRM holder? I am aware that the opposite holds.thanks

According to 'Guide to the Professional Risk Manager Exam' that i downloaded from the PRMIA site: Cross-Over Requirements for other DesignationsThe program also recognizes the achievements of those who have other professional designations and gives partial credit towards completion of the requirements for the PRM designation. The "cross-over" exam requirements are:CFA Cross-over Exams III and IVCIIA Cross-over Exams III and IVActuarial Fellow Cross-over Exams III and IVCQF Cross-over Exams III and IVActuarial Associate Cross-over Exams I, III and IVCSI Financial Risk Mgr Cross-over Exams II, III and IVCAIA Cross-over Exams II, III and IVConflicting information?

Wilmott's CQF @ 7City exempts you from Parts I and II. The PRM website offers extensive online materials and self-study via a couple of thrid parties - to me this looks cheaper than doing the CQF, but without the face-to-face networking, of course. That's the route I'm going now, anyway. If you pass PRM why would you need the CQF? That could be a dumb question - I'm genuinely interested.
