I have an interview for a Market Risk Analyst Position. It is a junior role so what should I expect in terms of interview questions. Anything particular I need to read up on. In market risk analyst is most of the work done along side traders and what are the chances of moving into trading in the future.

You should know Hull on your fingertips. But I wouldn't join in such a capacity only to become a trader... You may enjoy it after all, and if you don't and consequently try to move after a while, well, be aware that they're armies of grads who may well go before you.

Good knowledge of the basics (i.e Hull). Usually look for someone educated to M.Sc. level with Maths / Economics background and some exposure to VBA / Access & Finance. Know the basics well (i.e Hull) - greeks, what is VaR, different methods of calculation, pros and cons, payoff and risks of simple strategies (straddle, risk-reversal etc..), Black-scholes, what is happening in the markets and the moment.. and hopefully a bit more detailed knowledge of the product line you will mainly be dealing with....

It is a temporary job, but will give me good exp and was hoping to use this to move into a traders role.As a market analyst what should I try and learn and what sort of responsibility can I expect.
