A stock is just a neutral piece of paper - it is foolish to disapprove of a stock. What you could legitimately disapprove of is the behaviour of the company which issued that stick. As a stock owner you become a part owner of the company itself. How better to modify the policies of the company than by taking ownership of it and stopping the behaviour of which you disapprove?

I'm selling, not voting, and I'm not paid to pioneer unique or unpopular ethical positions. I'd provide full disclosure and explain the theory as to why, given the information I have disclosed, the stock is expected to do well. I would also know my client, so that if there is some fool who thinks it's his job to remake the world in his image who also has money, I won't mention stocks to him that will make him hate me.Except for those total assholes in the meat industry. My sociology professor showed me a video of what they actually do to, like, those wool-thingies - lambs - and it's amazing that most people are too stupid to even know where their meat comes from, and how terrible it is, and how the meat has enough antibiotics in it to kill a human fetus because of the way they pack the animals together. Rather than raise money so some fat asshole can ruin another national park or buy a yacht, I'd email the client some pictures from PETA, since it is my job as a CFA to be a revealer of the truth.

Mememe,"You're being paid to do a job; your job is to make money for your bank by selling whatever the market requires or whatever they ask you to sell. ""You don't have to believe or agree with something to sell it to somebody else! If you earned your living working as a shop assistant in Tesco's but were opposed to Nestle's third world policy, you wouldn't refuse to sell Nestle products to customers that came to your counterwould you? Anyone who felt they REALLY ethically couldn't sell a product their company marketed should really be looking for a different job!" Red
