Where do they all go?

Was curious where all the Analyst and Associates go if they don't cut it in Investment Banking. I have come across one or two who went over to Corp Dev (usually with a big chip on their shoulder), and I know one guy who decided to join the peace corp, but there should be more out there.

If you crash out at the Analyst level then you go to business school do an MBA and become a "consultant". Just the same as if you crap out as a consultant you go do an MBA and become an IB Associate. It's what Business School is for!As for Associates - dont they try for management roles in IT, Risk Management or Operations on the basis of "I was a... TRADER so should be considered as knowing all about this" forgetting that the people in ops, risk management and IT all put "crap" where the elipsis are so consigning them to sales roles for the parasite service firms that feed the City. <G>

Hmmm... That would explain the salespeople at Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Thomson, Merril, and about every other vendor we use. Might be a reason they crashed out of their banking roles (can't sell, don't understand their customer, waste time, don't listen or ask intelligent questions). But that's neither here nor there
