PhD advice...LSE or Imperial?

Dear ppl,I have been offered a Ph.D. place in Stats. (volatility modelling) both at Imperial (Statistics section) and LSE Statistical Science department. I have been awarded funding by both as well.Question: Generally which one would u ppl recommend and why?

I'm so sorry. Got way out of hand and I should have realised it would when I made my earlier comment.I was trying (albeit in a rather off colour way) to say "think about where you feel you would fit as a person" for the two schools. They have very different atmospheres (a male dominated culture as I alluded to at Imperial for example) and cultural fit is probably one of the more significant elements when making your choice.

well judging by your forum name, you would seem to have a doctorate already (unless it's a medical one) - in which case, why do you need a second one?

spursfan: I just made up my forum name....it wasn't my intention to deceive anyone! I donot have another Ph.D.....linuxuser99: Yes, I generally agree that things did get out of hand. I wasn't expecting people to start discussing the physical attributes of females at the two colleges! Although, I am sure ladies at IC are also very beautiful :-)

haha linux, were you drunk when you posted that?DrMonteCarlo, I think if you want to work abroad the LSE and much better international recognition (in the finance world anyway)

Then I would probably end up with more than one PhD.....:-)Seriously, I am sure Imperia ladies are very lovely...just like UCL ladies!Why are we talking about this though? I think i started off by asking for PhD advise! Where has this post ended!

Well to finish off this tone UCL ladies oh god yes it like babe central...Imperial ladies are you kidding me??!!As for where to go ignoring the women side of things go to where the supervisor will actually supervise...ask question with the current PhD studentsthat are being supervised and see what they say...

Thanks player.I am inclined toward IC...although its a shame that the women side of things is.....oh..well...if i decide to go to IC. Then as far as I remember, Gower Street isn't that far from South Kensington!
