dealers do not like to hire people from clients?

I have heard that sell-side firms do not like to hire people from their clients. I think it is true only to a certain extent. What do you guys think?

Depends of course on the relationship.If you hire directly from the part of your client you do business with it can make things go wobbly. There's the obvious issue of offending them, but the more subtle fact that if he his buying your stuff then he's probably worth more to you if he stays put.
