hi wienner, thanx for the link. looks very promising! but it seems to talk mainly about (a) people in M&A and (b) foreign banks. i wonder what the situation is for the limited quant-type people.

guys: found the info i was looking for, and it's depressing.there is hardly any modelling going on except at icici, and they are a bad paymaster. starting salary+bonus would come to 6-8L per yr. worse, even after 5 yrs experience, you can expect about 12-15L /yr in icici. in foreign banks, the progression is much better, but the starting is the same. no way would i go back for that kind of peanuts...might as well be a postdoc here!

From where did you get this info. I've heard Morgan stanley is doing great work in quant finance, as they also recruited PHd's.QuoteOriginally posted by: energydudeguys: found the info i was looking for, and it's depressing.there is hardly any modelling going on except at icici, and they are a bad paymaster. starting salary+bonus would come to 6-8L per yr. worse, even after 5 yrs experience, you can expect about 12-15L /yr in icici. in foreign banks, the progression is much better, but the starting is the same. no way would i go back for that kind of peanuts...might as well be a postdoc here!
