The comparsion between a life of a quant and a life of a quantitative finance tenure-track professor

I have not seen any threads discussing this kind of issue.If a life of a quant is good, but why are there so many people wanting to go back to work at the universities?any pros and cons??

you are right. Hard to be generalized. I just want to ask the comparsion between these two types of jobs.

do you really think anyone can be a quant at 65? However, you find dozens of Emeritus who were already lecturing during the Napolean invasions!

Just find the job that maximize your utility, this is the only rational decision you can take !
