C/C++ certificates

Does anyone know of a C/C++ certificate that companies in the financial world will acknowledge and for which the test doesn't cost too much (less than 150$ let's say)?

Well there's the CQF cert in C++...But is rather more than your $150 budget, since you get taught as well.Generally, exam-only certificates aren't recognised by firms, though individual managers have views.The least awful exam-only is at Brainbench.comIt's particular horror is that it is multiple choice, which makes it cheap. It tests what you know, but now what you can do.If you're good at quant style C++, but somehow feel unrecognised, send me your CV.

Thank you for your opinion.Actually, I'm still a student (engineering school + French Master in Fi Math). Thus, there is no question of feeling "unrecognised" (yet ?), and it probably explains why I wouldn't want to spend too much on the certificate.I don't have much experience of quant style C++, that's why I thought a certificate would be helpful. Anyway, if exam-only certificates aren't recognised by firms, I won't bother to take one. Anyway, how do they test the C/C++ proficiency of an entry level applicant ? of a student looking for a 6 month graduate program ?

Which kind of 6 month are you looking for ?Probably the most common test is Brainbench. But interviewers ask a hugely different set of questions varying from asking you to create an exception safe assignment operator to "oh I see you've done C++, good."PM me your email, and I'll send you the lecture notes for "C++ for interviews". Best to use it as a measure of your level, rather than as a cram paper.

It was helpful, and I was able to follow even without the audio, but I don't think it is the same paper that is mentioned in this thread, "C++ for Interviews".
