I just wanted to know what is the average number of Ibanks that people usually apply to, I applied for around 6 but I still feel that I may miss an opportunity with some others I didn't apply to.Also if I get a rejection in some stage of the process, how would this affect my chances if I reapply next year??thanks

Well there's really no real harm with applying to more than 6 banks - exceot that it'll take you more time to fill in applications forms. And if you're really that worried that you're in danger of missing opportunities then you definitely haven't applied to enough banks. And if you still feel that way after applying to every single bank, then you must ask yourself if you know exactly what job you're looking for after graduation.

A rejection will not change anything for next year. These places are like revolving doors, so go ahead and apply everywhere you want to work.

thanks guys for the comments.I however had a question: it appears that the majority of the banks use 2 providers for their graduate application forms; so do you think that any banks can know that you applied to any other one (that has the form with the same provider)?cheers

I don't think it matters.Lets say you're applying to UBS. They shouldn't be surprised at all if you also happen to be applying to Merrills. In fact HR persons will most likely ask if you have applied to other banks during interviews. It gives them an idea of how well the firm is regarded by students.
