Who gives a sh@* what a trader's starting salary is. You should be more concerned about what a trader can get after 3,4,5+ years if you are serious about it.

Duality needs to first make a starting salary before getting 3,4,5 years experience. So he first needs to know what he can expect to make tomorrow. If you can decide to take a job based only on what you might be able to be making in 5 years from now with no regard to what you will be making tomorrow, I personnally think that you should not be a trader.

Junior trader with no experience at all (fresh out of uni) means 1st year analyst, so 35 to 45kjunior trader with some other experience in banking means 1st year associate, 50 to 70k.phd grads somewhere inbetween

what is your take on applying to S&T associate programs once you complete a banking stint (with an offer for a direct promotion to associate). would you need an mba to make the jump?
