Free Editor & a sample file for academic CV

any one knws where we can get a free editor to edit finance article? Is Latex best and free?If it does exist, where can we find a sample file to make a academic CV.

Not sure what you nean by finance article. If you are looking to submit an article to a journal, latex should work fine and most journals have latex templates that you can download for this purpose.For a CV, there are three latex packages that I know of: curve, currvita and europecv.I am assuming you do not already have latex. I can only give you advice for the windows platform though.You need to do two things:Download and install Miktex, it is an implementation of tex for windows.Download and install TexnicCenter , it is an IDE for editing latex documentsBoth of these are free.T.

mj,Which editor do you use? Which on-line tutorial for Emacs and LaTex are worthwhile to spend time to go through?
