Trade Capture

I'm currently at a Tier 1 bank that's very strong on credit derivatives From previous roles I've several years interest rates quant dev experience along with an MSc, but have recently been put onto a team creating a CDO trade capture / workflow Excel + Sybase system for a minimum of 12 months. No, I can't wiggle out of it and attempts to move internally will get a managerial vetoI know this is not a good career event, but does it justify leaving a tier 1 bank to go to a quant dev role at a tier 2 firm instead ?
