risk management in India

June 2nd, 2006, 6:35 pm

Hi All, I am a graduate student at IIT Bombay mainly interested in Computational Mathematics. I've been working on modeling risk using copulas, calibration/monte carlo/ simulation etc. for quite some time. I shall be graduating soon (in about 2 months). Does any one know about openings pertaining to such a profile in India? Thanks for the help!Saket

I think you might be in luck as I believe Detusche Bank run some of their VaR engines (along with regular IT stuff) out of Bangalore. I would start there.

Deutsche runs a smilar type of operation in my country. It's called Deutsche Knowledge Services.Lots of banks are 'outsourcing' mid and back office jobs to 3rd world countries... I doubt you'll do real modelling. Most jobs are just running the models, feeding the data into the system, etc.But a good intro for fresh grads nontheless.
