How to start

So....i'm new to the forum and this is my first webbie thread ...certainly it will be a question posted more and more times but this is my problem:i'm an informatical engineer working as consultant for Accenture in Italy as senior programmer using java (not vba or c++ unfortunately but i learn really fast)for a big Insurance Company Ras/ Allianz and Unicredit Bank, i want to move to London and get into the quant world maybe in an investment bank, where and how i could start?thanks to all

Probably the best thing would be to look for a job in the city, trying to highlight your math knowledge rather than your dev skills. It's hard to find immediately your dream job but you could move to London and then look around from there, which is much easier. A master in fin math from a well known uk institution would help a lot, if not essential. That's my opinion at least. Hope it helps.

Yes, i think that you're totally right, but the idea it's that before moving i must have a work that could permit me to live there, and if i work i will earn and have the chance to do a financial master....this is the loop i think...

Yes, that's right. You should find a job before leaving your current position and before moving to London. Anyway Accenture is a very well known employer and it should not be too difficult to find an IT job in an investment bank. A quant dev rlel would be ideal, but the important thing would be to move to London.

You won't need HSMP since you are EU citizen. You already have the right to work in London. It's just up to you to find somebody to employ you.
