In your opinion, what are the most promising areas (i.e those likely to expand, to innovate, to recruit, etc...) in market finance for the coming ten years ?

I would say its more to do with Correlation derivatives . Dont mistake this to be just Credit correl. It can be anything to do with correlation between Currency Pairs. Correlation between a rate and a Ccy. Understanding correlation and how it might affect a product or a market could be the future. Also most trading books just sit on correlation . There is not way you could hedge correlation in the market through a tradeable asset ( or rather to put it in a better way , it is too expensive to do so ) and therefore correlation positions on IR/ Long dated FX books tend to stay stuck. If someone comes up with an optimal way to do so I think there could be a massive boom in this area... My humble 2 cents..
