Cuchulainn I see from the list you link to that they mention the Chudnovsky brothers in New York. According to a friend they built this huge computer into their apartment back then. Also I think at least one of the Chudnovsky brothers where involved in a hedge fund for some time..."They halted the program that summer." Did they really? or is this when their computer over heated and their computer spitted out the 216-digit code? According to my friend they actually had heating problems. The story of the Chudnovsky brothers building this huge computer into their apparent to find more digits of Pi really remind me of the Pi movie, not sure who inspired who? I watched the Pi movie agian a few weeks ago, it is a great movie! A must see for any real Quant or quant trader. Looks lik Pi movie was released 1998? if so I bet they it was inspired by the Chudnovsky brothers appartment

What about math lectures on DVD.You can choose lectures from this list:http://www.msri.org/communications/vmath/index_htmlOr if you dont know which particular branch of maths he's interested in, pick a Special discussion topic like this:http://www.msri.org/communications/vmat ... tmlThey're $15 each. Or you can of course burn them to DVD if you know how.
