Any chance to become a trainee at an american broker without having any job experience before?

November 28th, 2002, 2:51 am

After dropping out of school (due to family affairs) and doing nothing but studying the stock market and passing two trading exams (the swiss exchange trading licence and the eurex trading licence) for the next 3 years, I am going to apply for an entry level as a trainee at an american broker at the age of 25. My main concern is whether there is any chance that they are going to test me out or even hire me as a junior broker since I have no job expericene.I am dying to hear your opinion and awaiting your responses(If you think I'm a retard or a mental pathetic loser my apologies.. ). ;-)

Without an excellent graduate degree from a top university (BSc, BA as a minimum), I doubt you will get past HR.

How well did you score on the exams? If you did exceptionally well, then this helps your case. The fact that you have two licenses shows, that you can accomplish what you set out to do. Also, I am guessing that you speak multiple languages, another plus. Have you tried trading real money? If so, and you made money tell them. What type of brokerage position are you interested? Financial advisory? Floor broker? Those would require completely different skill sets. Please give us an idea of what you want to be doing. No matter what anyone tells you there is a way. You either have to find it, or make a new one.

Its my opinion that great voice on the telephone is what makes a big swinging "d***" , same applies on the floor of any exchange if you have a thundering voice not only can you outbid others but also get people to listen to you.
